Writer's Room is a free and open invitation bi-monthly writing workshop that focuses on developing writing skills and tools for creatives of all backgrounds and experiences.

Every other week, we gather online to discuss topics through a queer lens, respond to writing prompts, and honor the writer in all of us. Queer guest-facilitators are welcomed into the space to share their personal experience as a writer and artist. This workshop is great for those who are just discovering their voice, and for anyone who wants to continue expanding and developing their artistic point of view. We invite participants to connect with the community, share, reflect, and respond.
* Though consistency is highly encouraged, the workshops are non-consecutive and participants may join at any time during the season. Each session is facilitated by two LGBTQIA+ artists, holding space to support your writing practice and affirm your queerness.

This Writer’s Room season is all about the magic of autobiographical writing from a queer perspective. We’re celebrating the LGBTQIA+ legacy of creating something out of nothing, building our dream worlds, and living life as our authentic selves (complete with ✨glitter and sparkles✨, of course). In this workshop series, you’ll explore “Writing is Magic” through seven sessions of discussion and autobiographical prompts facilitated by LGBTQIA+ teaching artists, all with a queer community of writers by your side.
